We acknowledge that this trail is located on the traditional territories of New Sogobia (Eastern Shoshone), Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute), and Timpanogos tribes.
This popular trail is great for all ages and is beautiful all year round. We love that this hike takes you through a variety of terrain including a bridge overlooking a river, pine tree forests, and a rock scramble to a waterfall in a cave at the end.
The hike gets its name for a hole shape in the rock that water runs through into a small pool in a cave before cascading down the large exterior boulders. Though this hike is considered easy, the very end requires a scramble up large rocks to get into the cave. There are warning signs before the scramble, so please go at your own risk and take precautions. Make sure to wear footwear that is grippy and can get wet. In the warmer months, the closest parking is in a small lot at the start of the trailhead. When hiking in the winter, or if the small lot is full in the summer, you will need to park up by the main road at the Mill D trailhead. This adds about a mile roundtrip.
This hike is beautiful year-round! Check it out in the summer to see the green scenery and rushing falls, or the winter to see everything in a blanket of snow and icicles. When hiking in the winter, be sure to wear spikes as the boulders can be slippery.
