We acknowledge that this trail is located on the traditional territories of Goshute and Eastern Shoshone.
Rolling green hills and sweeping city views make for this stunning trail. We love how easily accessible this one was from Salt Lake, starting at the top of the Avenues neighborhood. Since the trail begins at a high vantage point from the start, you’ll get the best views of Salt Lake Valley and the mountains surrounding Emigration Canyon.
The trailhead starts in a cul de sac at the tippy tippy top of the steep Avenues neighborhood in Salt Lake, so street parking will be required. Dogs are allowed on this trail (yay!) so bring your pup. There’s no shade on this hike so make sure to prep for the sun exposure. We stopped at the first of the twin peaks, but feel free to continue on to the second if you want the extra workout and full mileage.
This hike is completely exposed, so we recommend starting early or making this a sunset hike if you’re going during the summer months.
